Live press run at the Daily Egyptian

The Daily Egyptian is a student-run newspaper at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. The "DE" delivers to the Carbondale and Murphysboro areas and reaches a circulation size of 20,000 copies, the largest in the state of Illinois. In 2002, it received the National Newspaper Pacemaker Award for General Excellence, the nations most prestigous college journalism award.

The press room begins at 10p.m. and handles all of the papers that are delivered in that night. A press worker's night could end anywhere between midnight to 4a.m. depending on the time the paper is received from the newsroom. Not only is the press room loud and obnoxious, but it takes a great deal of teamwork and concentration to get the job done and deliver one of the finest newspapers in the country!
